Ostracodermi

A craniate phylogenetic review separates traditional armored fossil ‘agnathans’ among several lineages on the jawed-vertebrate stem. Ostracodermi is therefore retained only as a historical navigation grade, not a monophyletic taxon, direct ancestor or globally bounded range.
