Mitral and sellate Micrina sclerites can be reconstructed as a near-bilaterally symmetrical sessile bivalved organism: sellate sclerites preserve paired muscle scars, while mitral apophyses are interpreted as muscle platforms. Valve homology and stem-brachiopod placement remain hypotheses rather than preserved articulation.
