NHMUK PI IN 38234 was interpreted from its mouthparts as a dicondylic insect with possible pterygote affinity in 2004, but three-dimensional reanalysis in 2017 found a myriapod, possibly centipede, interpretation more likely; it must not be used as an uncontested insect or flight calibration.

The Early Hexapoda evidence route navigation entity is source-linked only to the named specimen, dataset and analysis dossiers already cited by its range ledger. Its displayed span is a study-bounded route or sample envelope, not a biological taxon, ancestor sequence, global FAD/LAD or exact origin interval.

Rhyniognatha hirsti is bounded here by isolated head fragment NHMUK PI IN 38234 from the Rhynie Chert, Aberdeenshire, Scotland; its insect versus myriapod affinity remains unresolved, so this is not a global range.
