Several partly articulated Famennian specimens preserve three-dimensional neurocrania, a broad cartilage-enclosed snout, widely separated nasal capsules, a high-aspect-ratio tail and large pectoral fins; the sample records sensory and body-plan disparity without dating a global crown origin.
